Prime Recognition Announces Release of PrimeOCR Version 4.5; Latest Release Adds Key Production OCR Features.

Woodinville, WA - The market leader in production OCR, Prime Recognition, announces version 4.5 of PrimeOCR.  New features of version 4.5 include support for Windows 2008 Server, support for virtualization platforms, XML output, continued support for PDF/A output, faster reading of PDF files and enhancements to the PrimeOCR Job Server.

New features of PrimeOCR version 4.5 are:

• Support for Windows 2008 Server - The latest release of PrimeOCR includes enhancements to run with superior reliability under Microsoft's latest Windows operating system.

• Support for VMWare/VirtualPC - Integrating into virtualization platforms, PrimeOCR can run on today's popular virtual machine emulators.

• XML Output - PrimeOCR version 4.5 adds both word and character based XML output along with support for customer specific XML output formats.  Along with the established PRO output format, PrimeOCR's character based XML output includes extensive OCR results including character bounding boxes, character confidence, character point size and text attributes.

• Full PDF/A Support - PrimeOCR's PDF image only file format adds support for PDF/A.  All PrimeOCR PDF output file formats now support both PDF/A-1a and PDF/A-1b standards.

• Unicode Support - Additional options for UTF8 and UTF16 output are available for ASCII and RTF output file formats.

• PDF Input Speed Enhancements - Improvements have been made to further increase the speed of reading PDF files.  An additional PDF reading API call has been added for developers.

• Job Server Enhancements - The PrimeOCR Job Server improves logging and improvements for extended wild cards for selecting incoming images files.
